ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hi everyone! My name is Cara Leverette, and I'm a watercolor and acrylic artist located in the
beautiful town of Aiken, South Carolina. I love our small town nestled between historic oak trees
and home to equestrian activities, beautiful gardens, and parks. My artwork focuses mainly on
custom watercolor creations. I am best known for my house portraits and "Love Stories", but am
open to collaborating with you on any project.

BACKGROUND

I've been drawing since I was a young girl and have been blessed to inherit my
parents’ artistic talent. My dad, an engineer and woodworker, and my mom, a talented
designer/ seamstress, passed on a love for creating. My younger brother, David, is a prominent
"golf" artist in Charlotte. While growing up, we both loved to spend time drawing and sketching. What started as a hobby has developed into a passion for both of us. 

I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a mom, teacher, and artist. I feel so blessed to have
done all three. Whether I am in the classroom or at home, I can usually be found holding a pencil
or a paintbrush.  Although I have been painting most of my life, I only began working with
watercolors within the last couple of years. My desire as an artist is to use the artistic gifts God
has given me to bring joy and hope to the people the Lord puts in my path. When I'm not painting, you can find me spending time with my husband, two sons, and our sweet dog, Marley.
